This is a fantastic venue for celebrating a special occasion. We went here for my birthday, the staff are welcoming and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Drinks and food presented are amazing. This really is a fine dining restaurant. If you do decide to go, splash out and have the wine experience with the meal. The wines were matched brilliantly and we never felt rushed while dining there. I'll definitely will be back again.
We had the new three course Saturday lunch menu, with the wine package. I wondered if the lunch menu would be on a par with the 7 course evening menu, and was not disappointed Adam Jackson and the Park staff continue to deliver the best dining experience in York. The service was impeccable, the food was simply fantastic and the wine choices were inspired. If you have an opportunity to come here I highly recommend it.

5/5 still isn't high enough. Incredible food and service for a very reasonable price. Easily the best meal I've ever had. You know a main course is good when you're genuinely sad it's over. Extensive wine list is superbly priced also. If I had to recommend one place in England to visit it would be here.
Have eaten here several times so had no qualms about having our 50th wedding anniversary celebration here.Without exception all present thought the food excellent.

Had an absolutely brilliant evening here. The setting, the service, the staff and of course the food made this a really lovely surprise night out. The staff could not be more courteous, and so friendly, they were knowledgeable and helpful for suggestions of wine etc. The food was amazing, we are still talking about it 2 weeks later. I can't wait to go again, and next time we're going to sit at the kitchen station and watch the food being prepared and get a chance to listen to Josh.
The restaurant was marked as one of the best spots in York. Definitely it is an original one because the menu can’t be chosen or even seen before served. Quality of the food is good but not fantastic which is what you expect in a restaurant like that. Friendly staff. Slightly pricey.
Opposite Clifford's Tower,, 12-13 Tower St, York YO1 9SA, UK – 01904 636481
Good quality food, knowledgeable chef, food had great authentic taste and quality and reasonably priced. Dessert was very nice too. Very glad I came here hard to choose from so many Indian restaurants.
If you are an Indian and longing for authentic Indian food and then your wait will end with this restaurant. Friendly Indian hosts and great food. A real value for your money and taste buds. We as family had great food at this place in York. Strongly recommend.

Cracking curry house. Wins on all counts. Loads of choices in all categories of curries and sundries. Had the Chicken and Keema and its to a very high standard. Big portions. Garlic nan on the hanger was nigh on perfect. Great prices as well. Recommended!
Akbar’s is THE best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. Not only was the food fantastic but waiters were incredibly kind and hospitable too. I would defo visit again and recommend to anyone visiting York.
105-107 Micklegate, York YO1 6LB, UK – 01904 659988
Food is good and fairly reasonably priced, but like all of Micklegate best avoided on race days
We have visited Jinnah many times over the past few years and have always really enjoyed the food and the setting . We recently chose it for a family celebration. We had to seat 22 people including three children for an 18th birthday and we had the most attentive service and the food was absolutely gorgeous as always. Khaled and his staff prepared the table just as we had asked and then literally could not do enough to ensure our every need was catered for. If you are looking for the best curry in a great setting with great service this place is for you. Thanks again Khaled. Nicola and Paul.

Ask Italian always has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant in York is something else entirely. The dining hall has an incredibly tall ceiling, polished columns, and is so open plan as to feel like you are eating in a palace. It is beautiful. Also, it was here that we first discovered the cocktail range. We came back two nights in a row, the first time for dinner, the second time as the place we had eaten had let us down with desserts. So we came back to Ask for a pudding and an Italian Twinkle. It felt very decadent, and made our weekend away just that little more special. Thank you!
Was taken here by a friend. The food was second to none. It was amazing. It was really great. My experience of this establishment was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as did my friend.

Nice decor and layout. Helpful waiting staff. We had set menu. Our main course of salmon tagliatelle would have benefited by having more salmon. My chocolate brownie as dessert was heavenly. Although quite early in the day they had run out of torts for dessert.
Great service and great menu. Went during the day and took advantage of the 'kids eat free' offer, which was loved by both parents and kids alike! Would definitely go again.

Looks like an Italian delicatessen but this is a first class restaurant. Not a large place so probably best to book in advance. The food is excellent as is the service. Don't expect fast food service as all the meals are freshly cooked. A bit of a problem for parking as the restaurant is inside the city walls. Overall experience was first class
Booked this based completely on the Google rating. What can I say. Superb staff (Fabio was our waiter) and the food..... I don't say this lightly, was the finest dish I've eaten in my life, bar none. All of the seafood cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!

Quick drink with the wife. It was unexpectedly quiet, even for a Sunday. Was surprised to hear it closes at 10pm too.
Pretty cool place.y Brice had birthday party there. Open and spacious drink and food ok

Great bar with fab food and cocktails all staff very polite and friendly with a very good atmosphere.
Not personally a big fan Cocktails dont list ingredients on the menu and music is too loud after a certain time. Staff are nice and drinks themselves good value.

Red devil. Go there. Drink a jug. See what happens. I dare you. Double dare you. Triple dare you. Your night will be fun, erratic, memorable in the same way childhood memories are memorable. Grey distant with details missing but strong emotions. The Devil will enchant your night with sanguine joy then possibly haunt your morning with the stupid stuff You did. Nice gaff. Cosy. 👹
Very small bar, but nice. Almost feel like your on the strip somewhere in spain when seated outside under heated lamps. Good cocktials at average prices
16 Barbican Rd, York YO10 5AA, UK – 01904 659976
Called in whilst here for a few days, great idea cooking buffet to order in smaller portions to normal from your seat and a menu. Staff were very helpful and food was great. Wish i’d Seen/know about the desserts before I filled my tummy. Will definitely be back. Free parking was a bonus.
First time at this restaurant and was not disappointed in what we got. An all you can eat buffet for £15 was very very good. Between 6 of us we continuously ordered more and more starter dishes in all possibly 15 or more. We then moved on to a duck dish. I cannot say enough about the restaurant great food and including drinks the bill was £180 so VFM for sure

Even though this restaurant is a chain, the food feels authentic. My dad is obsessive about the dumplings so we come here and eat a lot. The crispy duck is fabulous. I highly recommend the salt and pepper baby squid and the chilli beef. The decor is nice and the service is efficient.
Price may be a little high for some, but value for money is outstanding, as is the quality and variety of food. There are dishes on the menu here that I've never seen anywhere else. Very highly recommended!

The best Chinese restaurant I have visited, so far. Great food, excellent friendly service.
I've been going here for years and it's always been consistently good. The food is always served very quickly so it's a good place to stop if you're short on time
62 Low Petergate, York YO1 7HZ, UK – 01904 644600
Beautiful food, good atmosphere and lovely staff. The fillet steak with apsparagus and diane sauce war delicious and I had the lamb previously which is also recommend. The building has a lot of character and an interesting history. Great anytime of year but I'd recommend going on the summer and sitting in the conservatory part so you can see the beautiful gardens.
Lovely food. Great service. The only downside was the bar staff launching empty bottles into the bin. We had a heart attack every time!!
31 Fossgate, York YO1 9TA, UK – 01904 638252
My fella and I had a fabulous couple of hours here. We were eating some great tapas, sharing a cheese board but most importantly learning about Sherry. Oh my days it was great to spend time there and learn that Sherry is not a granny's only drink, that it can be paired with food and it is scrumptious. Thank you so much. We are only in York for a few days but I can see a second visit in our very near future. Sherry, who'd have thunk! Summary, good food, great service, clean & welcoming and did I mention the Sherry.......?
Nice place to kick back and enjoy a good beer and some food. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the dirty fried which I have to admit loved!!!!!
104 Micklegate, York YO1 6JX, UK – 01904 658658
Very high quality. My dinner was light with lovely flavours. A very pleasant glasses of white wine with it. The waiter was charming in all the right ways. Following dinner the owner took a group of us into the cellar to view remains of Roman walls. Just wish I lived in York to go back more often.
Really lovely food well presented efficient service. Menu was interesting without lots of choices to make decisions difficult. My wife loved the furniture and the decor. There's even a copper etching of the man n' scythe from Bolton in one of the loo's. Just something missing to make it 5 stars
54-56 Fossgate, York YO1 9TF, UK – 01904 625226
Honestly I would give more stars if I could. Amazing service, staff interested in you and your concerns (not that we had any) I ordered drinks and they make me a cocktail not on the menu because I am fussy! Time taken to make sure everything is good. Fast service and food is amazing. Good prices and a nice place to eat. Great for big groups too! Would come here again. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Keep doing what you are doing! If the restaurant see this please thank your staff they are professional but still can have some fun with you. Amazing balance. Thank you!!!
Great place, such an interesting building with lots of nooks and crannies for a quite chat with friends. The food was delicious and yummy cocktails. There is even a hidden speakeasy club on the top floor. Will be visiting again
Hull Rd, York YO10 3LF, UK – 01904 411856
Much improved since our last visit a few months ago. The menu is much more interesting now, not just your usual pub food. I had chicken fajitas and my partner had surf n turf. Both of which tasted really good. The staff on all levels were helpful and gave you their full attention. The toilets were clean and the bar and eating areas were tidy. Now really worth a visit.
Food was nice and there was a good selection. Drawback was they had one member of staff trying go look after most of the tables so service was a bit slow.
2 Cromwell Rd, Bishophill, York YO1 6DU, UK – 01904 849040
Met a couple who told us about this pub and can''t believe that in all our visits to York we have never found it before. It's not far off the beaten track and full of people who obviously love the place. It has a couple of spacious rooms and outside space too. The bar billiard table is free, but a contribution to the upkeep can be made at the bar. Beers were well kept and a good selection too. It's a gem so seek it out
Wow! This place is real deal. Lovely pub. Lovely beer. Lovely staff. People friendly. Dog friendly. And away from the heaving masses.
